From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Colombia Móvil is a Colombian PCS operator, owned by local phone companies ETB (Bogotá) and EPM (Medellín). The company started operations at the end of 2003, and uses the commercial name and brand Ola.

As of March 2006, Ola was the third mobile phone operator, reporting approximately 2.3 million subscribers [1]. Nevertheless, it lags considerably behind its competitors Comcel and movistar.

In June 2006 50% plus one of the stocks of Colombia Móvil were purchased by Millicom International Cellular (MICC) through a public auction, giving this company control of operations. Since December 2006 it uses the commercial brand Tigo.
