Collier County Athletic Conference
The Collier County Athletic Conference (CCAC) is made up of seven high schools in Collier County, Florida. The schools involved are:
- Barron Collier High School
- Golden Gate High School
- Gulf Coast High School
- Immokalee High School
- Lely High School
- Naples High School
- Palmetto Ridge High School
The athletic directors in the county had discussed for a number of years the formation of a conference. It was decided that the addition of two new county schools in 2004 raised the number sufficiently to warrant the start of the CCAC. The county athletic directors spent the 2004 - 2005 school year forming the policies to regulate the conference. The athletic directors were:
- Barron Collier HS - Joe Kemper
- Golden Gate HS - Jim Ragusa
- Gulf Coast HS - Larry Sather
- Immokalee HS - Linda Ayer
- Lely HS - Patty Moul
- Naples HS - Ernie Modugno
- Palmetto Ridge HS - Mario Doria
The conference was started to promote competition between the schools in a positive manner and to give student-athletes more opportunity for recognition and awards. It also simplified the scheduling process for the schools by regulating a specific number of contests between each school in every sport.
Conference play between the schools began in the fall of 2005.
The CCAC crowns an all-sports champion at the end of each school year. The champion is determined by a points system based on a school's final standing in each sport. The all-sports champions to date are:
- 2005 - 2006: Barron Collier HS
