Collie Entragian (Stephen King)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Collie Entragian is a fictional character from the Mirror-Image worlds in the Stephen King and Richard Bachman Novels Desperation and The Regulators, respectively. On the world in which Desperation takes place, Collie is the town's Sheriff; on the world in which The Regulators takes place, he is a retired cop, framed for drug possession and discharged from the police force in another town to stop his anti-corruption efforts as a member of Internal Affairs.
[edit] Death
Collie Entragian, along with a select few others, dies within the story settings of both books.
In Desperation, Collie is at one point captured and selected by Tak as his next host body after Cary Ripton's body "wears out;" later on, due to the presence of Tak's enormous magical energies, Collie's body is almost completely destroyed from the inside out.
In The Regulators, one of the Reed twins, Jim Reed, mistakes Collie Entragian for a monster at a crucial moment (in part due to Seth/Tak's manipulation of illusions) and shoots him in the head. He lives just long enough to tell Steve Ames that he was framed by the other officers of Internal Affairs (and subsequently fired from the force) because they were part of the corruption in his precinct, too.
