Colin Murdock

Colin Murdock (born 2 July 1975, in Ballymena) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays for Rotherham in English League 1.

In his first season with the club in 2005-06, Murdock brought experience to the centre of the Rotherham defence. The Northern Ireland international started his career as a junior at Manchester United but hadn't broken through to the first team when he moved to Preston in May 1997, commanding a fee of £100,000. Murdock notched more than 200 league and cup appearances while at Deepdale and he then moved north of the border to Hibernian before joining Crewe in the latter part of 2004-05. He skippered the team last season and in the latter part of the campaign his excellent form helped the team to steer clear of relegation.

During his time at Easter Road, he went from villain to hero when he scored the goal which knocked out Rangers in the CIS Cup Semi Final 2004.
