Colin Hansen

Colin Hansen is British Columbia's Minister of Economic Development, and Minister Responsible for the Asia-Pacific Initiative and the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Hansen was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia during the general election of 1996 and re-elected in the general elections of 2001 and 2005. He represents the electoral district of Vancouver-Quilchena.

He has served as Minister of Health Services (2001-04) and as Minister of Finance (2004-05). In June 2005, he was appointed Minister of Economic Development. Between 1996 and 2001, Colin served as health critic for the Official Opposition, as well as the critic for employment and investment, and for labour.

Hansen has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Victoria. He has worked in small business and as vice-president of finance and administration for the Asia-Pacific Foundation.
