Colin Bennett is an actor famous for his role as Mr Bennett the janitor, and straightman for Morph, in BBC chidrens program Take Hart. Amongst other TV duties he presented Night Shift and You Should Be So Lucky, as well as appearing in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as Zarquon. He also wrote a couple of TV series including Captain Zep - Space Detective and Luna before moving into the production field. He has a long background of acting and directing plays notably appearing in, and directing, the musical version of The Point!. Bennett also runs his own production company, An Acquired Taste TV Corp, and has been making broadcast television for about 17 years.

The name of the company says a lot about it. It is an 'Acquired Taste' in that they have specialised in slightly edgy products that don't fit easily into the mainstream of television. But it also reflects the time when they started. Supplying what is called acquired content. This was before the explosion of producer choice and the now fully formed independent television sector.
