Coleopterology

Coleopterology is the scientific study of beetles (insects of the order Coleoptera). Practitioners are termed coleopterists.
As a subfield of entomology, coleopterists share many of the concerns of general entomologists. Taxonomy is somewhat more important to coleopterology, because of the sheer number of beetle species to organize.
When speaking informally, coleopterists sometimes refer to their study as beetling.
