COLD WAR was a 24-episode television documentary series on the Cold War, the events that led up to it, and those that followed in its wake. First shown in 1998, the series was produced by Jeremy Isaacs in a similar style to his previous epic historial documentary series: the 1973 The World at War. The series was created by Ted Turner as a joint production between Turner Broadcasting System and the BBC, being originally shown on CNN in the US and BBC Two in the UK. The series was narrated by Kenneth Branagh and featured interviews with both leading political figures as well as more everyday witnesses. The complete series was released on VHS in both the US & UK but as yet has not been released on DVD.
