Although a broken coffeemaker does not seem to bother the office employees, Michael, convinced that it will have a terrible effect on morale, refuses to work until it can be fixed. Meanwhile, Dwight meets someone claiming to be his brother. Jim is involved in a life-threatening car crash, which causes Karen to propose to him just in case he makes it. When Jim recovers, Karen wonders if it was all a big mistake.^{[citation needed]}
