Coffee's for closers

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coffee's for closers is a famous and frequently performed monologue in both screenacting and theatre acting auditions and competitions. It was specifically written by David Mamet for Alec Baldwin in the film, Glengarry Glen Ross which was originally a play also written by David Mamet. However the play did not contain this scene.

In this scene Alec Baldwin plays the character Blake, who is sent by Mitch and Murray, to "discuss" the methodology of real-estate sales to a group of tough employees in a Chicago real-estate office. John Williamson played by Kevin Spacey, is the unsympathetic supervisor who over looks Blake's speech to employees: Shelley Levene (Jack Lemmon), Ed Moss (Ed Harris) and George Aaronow (Alan Arkin).
