[edit] John Adams

You have recently created the article John Adams, Sr.. This was deleted in accordance with Wikipedia's deletion policies. Please do not recreate the article: if you disagree with the article's deletion, you may ask for a review at Wikipedia:Deletion review.—WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 00:41, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

I tagged it for deletion because it wasn't apparent to me that he had done anything notable other than sire a future president out of the 3, 4 maybe I can't remember, children that he had. I didn't think that the article would ever expand much beyond what was already covered in the John Adams article. I'm not actually able to delete articles as I am not an admin. This means that an admin agreed with me and deleted it twice. The second time you recreated it, you added more information. What I ended up doing is merging the only thing in your article that I didn't find in John Adams into the Early life section, specifically the birth and death years of Sr. Currently, the article you created redirects to John Adams. If you think you can write an article that is more than a stub about Sr., then you may follow this link and write it up. I just don't think there is much to say about him that isn't adequately covered in the article on Jr., but I have been wrong before.—WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 03:46, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Yes. If you can write up a bio on him, by all means do so. Just follow the link above. —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 01:50, 3 May 2006 (UTC)

They all look good. Could you add the source of your information? When writing stubs it is generally very helpful to give a reference as a jumping off point for further expansion. —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 01:04, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Images

I have pasted my more comprehensive welcome message below. It should provide links to just about anything you would have questions about, including images.

...Here are some tips for navigating Wikipedia:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. There are also the help pages for self-help and the village pump and IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance. You should also feel free to ask me on my Talk page.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes(~~~~) produces your name and the current date. Please do not add this signature to encyclopedia articles you may edit, however, even if you have created them. Wikipedia articles are owned by the community, not by any one person. Again, welcome! —WAvegetarianCONTRIBUTIONSTALK EMAIL 04:15, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Steens Pictures

I saw on the Requested Pictures page that you were looking for pictures of Steens Mountain. Here is a link to my steens picures on flickr: SteensPictures. If you think any of these would be appropriate, I would be happy to release them under GFDL or CC licenses. Sheldrake 20:45, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Portland

Hi Coby2! We're working on the article about Lewis & Clark for the german Wikipedia and we would like to ask you, if you might be able to take some pictures of the following sites:

  • Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, Portland
  • Fort Clatsop National Memorial bei Astoria, OR

If you could take some pics and upload them on Commons? I would be glad to do the upload for you, of course! Maybe you have the chance to stop by and help your german friends out, we really appreciate your time and effort. Take care, --Hedwig in Washington (TALK) 02:22, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
