"Cobwebs and Strange" is an Instrumental by British rock Band The Who, from their 1966 album "A Quick One". The track, one of two on the album written by legendary Who drummer Keith Moon, was recorded at Pye No. 2 Studio in October 1966. To create the song, the band first created the basic track (guitar, bass, drums) and then marched around the studio past a mono microphone playing whatever they could get their hands on, which was then over-dubbed over the basic track. Who producer Kit Lambert thought this might create a "stereo" effect. Moon played orchestral cymbals and tuba, bassist John Entwistle played trumpet, guitarist Pete Townshend played penny whistle and bass drum, and singer Roger Daltrey played trombone. The working title was "Showbiz Sonata".

In the documentary film The Kids Are Alright, this was used during an exploration of the more ridiculous parts of Keith Moon's character. Moon is seen arriving in a cardboard box whilst the rest of the band drink tea and then leading them on a crazed journey as he is controlled by his hat (originally the promotional film for their single "Call Me Lightning"). This fits in perfectly with footage of him destroying a hotel room, walking down the beach dressed as a roman emperor and Long John Silver and lying on the floor at his birthday party, amongst other things.
