Coarse fishing

Coarse fishing is an angling method, mostly popular throughout Europe for fishing for bream, tench, roach, chub and other members of the family Cyprinidae.

Depending on the situation, different types of rods can be used. There are two types of poles with a fixed line, telescopic poles, and take-apart poles. Another common technique is using a waggler rod, with a reel. Floats of different designs are typically, but not always, used. If a float is not being used, a quiver tip is recommended, as a bite indicator. Groundbait is usually thrown into the water to attract fish to the area, and typical baits include nightcrawlers, maggots, bread and maize.
