Clyde Roark Hoey (11 December 1877 -- 12 May 1954) was the Democratic governor of the U.S. state of North Carolina from 1937 to 1941. Hoey later served as a Democratic U.S. Senator from 1945 until his death in 1954. He was also a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1919 to 1921.
