Club Cupid, which is filmed in Dundee is a brand new STV dating show for Scottish singles. Every week, stv will be giving one man and woman the chance to speed date five potential suitors in a bid to find true love, a soulmate, or new friends. Club Cupid, is presented by Des Clarke and Michelle Watt.

Throughout each episode, the Love Doctor, Dr Gareth Smith provides advice and guidance to the participants, as well as analyse their behaviour and strategies with presenters Des and Michelle.

The first series has now ended. The second series begins in 2007.

Scottish comedian and TV presenter Des Clarke is one of the country’s most exciting rising stars. Des has previously presented the now ended children's show SMTV Live (ITV), as well as Invention SOS for Discovery and Sky One’s Whatever. He has also hosted The Beat 106 Breakfast Show, and in 2004 he was awarded "Presenter of the Year" in the prestigious British Radio Awards, gaining recognition throughout the industry.

A successful comedian, Des has performed at comedy festivals across the world, including his own sell-out show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, appearances in New York and at the Dublin Comedy Festival.

Scottish television presenter Michelle Watt has established herself as a brilliant and experienced live presenter. In the past, Michelle has presented Junior Eurovision for ITV2 and This Morning Puzzle Book for ITV Play, as well as co-presenting and interviewing a range of celebrity guests for BBC Radio Scotland. Watt has also presented on price-drop tv and bid tv.

The daughter of former boxing world champion Jim Watt, Michelle has a great interest in sport and has previously worked as a sports manager, managing Stephen Hendry and Dennis Taylor, among others.

[edit] Dr Gareth Smith aka "The Love Doctor"

Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Gareth Smith has featured frequently in the media as an expert psychiatrist, and has become one of the country’s most trusted experts. In the past, Gareth has appeared on Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother, This Morning, Trisha and Britain’s Worst Celebrity Driver, plus many others. Educated at The Nicholson Institute in Stornoway, Gareth is qualified with an MB ChB and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He currently works as a Consultant in Adult General Psychiatry.
