Cloud suck

Cloud suck is a phenomenon commonly known in paragliding and hang gliding where pilots experience significant lift under the base of cumulus clouds. Cloud suck occurs most commonly in low pressure weather and especially in humid conditions.

In extreme conditions cloud suck can generate significant lift; pilots have recorded flights with lift greater then 4,500 fpm.
