[edit] Description
When Club Banana discontinues Kim's mission clothes just as she needs new ones, she is forced to find a replacement for her long worn clothes. Meanwhile, Kim and Ron start looking for colleges while Drakken starts his next plan.
[edit] Summary
Showing themselves to both be incredibly good sports, Dr. Drakken and Shego are back to working together again just like old times, and showing no hard feelings between themselves whatsoever despite recent events.
Trying unsuccessfully to stop them from stealing high-tech components for Drakken's inevitable new plan, Kim's mission clothes end up damaged beyond saving, requiring her to get replacements. But, fashion being fashion, Kim's cargo pants and crop top are both already out of style, so neither are available any longer at Club Banana, nor Smarty Mart, nor anywhere else for that matter. And, Kim's battle-suit has been developing technical glitches now. So, Kim must put together an entirely new outfit to wear for missions.
But, Kim being Kim, any mission outfit for her cannot be just functional and practical, but must also be stylish and in style as well. Fulfilling all of these standards in one outfit ends up proving quite impossible for Kim Possible to find from what's available in stores, so her new mission outfit will have to be something custom designed and made just for her.
As if separate, major crisis' regarding both new mission clothes and stopping Drakken were not enough, Kim and Ron are hit with an even greater crisis in both their lives: college admissions!
Parents being parents, Kim's mother and father are each pressing her to choose to apply to their respective alma maters. But working on college applications has to be put aside to contend with the other two crises.
Both Mr. Dr. Possible and the Tweebs each try to help Kim out by contributing their own concepts for a new mission outfit, both in the form of battle-armor style outfits, and Kim tries to put each outfit to use against Shego and Drakken. Dr. Possible has modified a spacesuit to serve as Kim's mission outfit, but it immediately proves impractical, to say the least. The Tweebs' design for a battle-armor mission-outfit not only proves impractical and ineffective against Shego, it also shows that the Tweebs have been watching way too many cartoons (particularly anime).
Monique, clearly aspiring to become a fashion designer, also tries to help design a new mission outfit, and wants Kim's input and feedback to make the ideal outfit. But the sheer volume of details that go into designing clothes are overwhelming for Kim to process, so Monique's effort is cut short.
Deciding that desperate times call for desperate measures, Ron takes Kim to consult with the Fashionista criminals at the penitentiary, since they are fashion experts. Although intrigued with the challenge of designing the perfect mission outfit, criminals being criminals, the Fashionistas expect a deal for their services which gets them out of prison. Kim refuses, of course.
Rufus, overlooked by the criminals as usual, caught a glimpse at a drawing the Fashionistas made for the new mission outfit, and reproduces the drawing for Monique. The outfit is made, presented to Kim, and everyone immediately declares it to be perfect.
Kim's new mission outfit has come not a moment too soon. Drakken completes and activates his latest doomsday device, which is intended to merge the world's continents back together into another Pangaea. But, Drakken being Drakken, he didn't take everything into account in his plan, and the inevitable earthquakes that come with continents shifting end up destroying Drakken's lair and the doomsday device.
Two crisis' now over and done with, Kim and Ron are now free to focus entirely on the much more serious crisis of completing and submitting their college applications. Finally, Kim applies to the colleges of her choice, while Ron sends applications to every college in the U.S.
In the end credits, the Fashionistas get busted by a prison guard taping their bribe. Kim, in new mission wear, and Ron show up. With the Fashionistas design stolen, Kim and Ron leave as it fades out.
[edit] Quotes
- Fashionista #3: So, we get you the orange jumpsuits, you get us out of the laundry duty.
Prison Guard: Done.
Kim: And you're done too!
Prison Guard: Got the entire bribe on tape!
Fashionista #1: This is an outrage!
Ron: Don't do the time if you can't do the crime ... or something like that!
Fashionista #1: I meant your mission clothes!
Fashionista #2: Yeah, that's our design!
Kim: Uh, gotta go. Bye!
- Mrs. Dr. Possible: So, were dying to know, did you apply to my or your father's ...
Kim: Actually, neither.
Ron: But I did!
Kim: Ron applied to every college.
Mr. Dr. Possible: Every college in the country?
Ron: Playin' the odds.
Mrs. Dr. Possible: And Kimmy, what about you?
Kim: Well, medical school is perfect for you, mom, and science for you, dad, but I gotta go with my...
Ron: Mojo.
Mr. Dr. Possible: Mojo? Is that a state school?
Kim: I applied to these schools. Actually, Drakken sort of gave me the idea.
Mrs. Dr. Possible: Drakken?
Mr. Dr. Possible: Hong Kong? London? Venice?
Kim: It's a small world. I know, I've saved it over and over.
Mr. Dr. Possible: Well, we couldn't be prouder!
Ron: I've got to send out more applications.
Kim: A lot more!
- Ron: (during his college admissions test) Hey, a question about Pangaea!
Kim: Shh!
- Drakken: You think your new mission clothes are all that, but they're not!
Ron: Say, um, thanks for the save, Kim.
Kim: Back at cha'! I'm not sure what would have happened if you hadn't gotten captured!
Ron: That's what I'm here for, KP!
Kim: Only one mission to go, the college admission, um, mission.
- Kim: I can't believe Drakken and Shego got away, again! I really need my old mission clothes mojo.
Ron: Ain't no mojo in clothes. That's not what makes Kim Possible possible.
Kim: Aww, I think I'll keep you around, Ron.
Ron: Unless, you know, what if those were your lucky duds, the secret to your success without which you can never defeat Drakken or Shego again, or anyone! Of course that's just one theory.
[edit] Notes
- When Shego says "season, after season, after season", she may be referring to the first three seasons of the series.
- While trying on various outfits, one of Kim's choices bears resemblance to the style worn by one of her enemies, Camille Leon.
