Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Carom 16:23, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 03:00, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Stalingrad Map
Well, you can upload it, but if it's copyrighted (which I assume it is) it can really only be used here on Wikipedia (as opposed to being uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, where it can be used by any of the sister projects as well), and even then really only in the Stalingrad article (under fair use). And, given that there is, in fact, a free image on commons (see here), it doesn't seem like there's a great deal of point in adding another, unfree image, although you are, of course, free to do so (just make sure you get the copyright info correct). If you have any graphics/drawing skills, however, and were prepared to create and upload an image (and release it under the GFDL), that would be very useful. Carom 19:10, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
