Clive Carr

Clive Emsley Bracewell Lascelles Carr was born on 29 May 1934. He is Life President of Arsenal Football Club and a former hotelier.

He married Isabel daughter of Vicomte Devezeaux de Rancougne in 1963. He is the grandson of former Arsenal Chairman Sir Bracewell Smith and older brother of Richard Carr fellow Arsenal Director through his mother Eileen Bracewell Smith. His father Harry Lascelles Carr was in the RAF and was killed on active service in the second world war in 1943. He has no children.

As Managing Director of the family owned Park Lane Hotel he recruited Anne Trehearne to work as public relations in 1968. As a result the hotel's image and fortunes were improved.

The Park Lane Hotel, was also where the then Arsenal manager George Graham met Rune Hauge the football agent at the centre his corruption charges [1]. The Hotel was eventually sold in 1997 to the Sheraton Hotel Group.
