Clink Street
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Clink Street is a well-known street in Bankside, London, UK, between Southwark Cathedral and the Globe Theatre.
Narrow, dark and cobbled, it is best known as the historic location of the notorious Clink Prison, giving rise to the slang phrase 'in clink', meaning 'in prison'. The prison is now a museum and tourist attraction.
Clink Street is very close to the River Thames, and a replica of the Golden Hind is moored near one end of the street.
