Clinic for Paranormal Research

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Clinic for Paranormal Research is a fictional medical clinic in Marvel Comics's New Universe, located in Wisconsin. It was one of the main settings of the comic book D.P.7.

[edit] History

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

The Clinic began as a private hospital under the name Sawyer Sanatorium. After the White Event, Philip Nolan Voigt and Dexter Charne, an employee of the hospital, used their newfound paranormal abilities to take control and ownership. They renamed it and reopened it on July 7, 1986 with a new purpose... to study paranormals.

The Clinic placed advertisements in many newspapers, offering help to those who discovered they had new powers or disabilities. Members of the Clinic's staff typically brainwashed those coming to seek treatment, and some entered Voigt's secret employ outside.

Paranormals were typically divided into small therapy groups. One of these groups, Therapy Group C, discovered that they were being watched, and fled the Clinic. The Clinic sent out bounty hunters both paranormal and human, to retrieve the group.
