Clifton railway station serves Clifton, Greater Manchester, a suburb of Salford, Greater Manchester, England.

It lies on the Manchester-Preston Line. In 2006, the station has just one train a day in each direction (local services run by Northern Rail). 417 passengers are recorded as using the station in 2004-5.

Until 1974, the station was called Clifton Junction and has given this name to the locality the station serves. A line built by the LNWR between Patricroft and Bury crossed the Manchester-Preston Line here and made a junction with it. The name Molyneux Junction is also recorded but it is not clear whether this is an earlier name for Clfton Junction or a separate station on the Patricroft - Bury line. The line to Bury closed in 1966. The line to Patricroft had been reduced to freight working before World War II and was closed abruptly with a tunnel collapse in 1953 see Pendlebury.

The nearest alternative station to Clifton Junction with a regular service is Swinton 2km (1ΒΌ miles away) on the line between Manchester and Wigan via Atherton.
