Clifford Bundy "Cliff" Stearns, Sr. (born April 16, 1941), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 1989, representing Florida's 6th congressional district (map). He was born in Washington, D.C., was educated at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and the University of California, Los Angeles, served in the United States Air Force where he rose to the rank of captain and was a businessman before entering the House.
The National Taxpayers Union voted Stearns as the top tax cutting member of the House. He greatly believes that the nation's budget must be balanced. Stearns is the chairman of the Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection subcommittee. He has also worked toward crime reduction and senior citizens benefits.
