[spam final warning removed] Your response puzzles me. Dermatlas provides images of dermatological diseases. There is no advertisement, no commercial interest, no money being made. Not even an idea being pushed. Just information.
- In the event of continued persistent WP:SPAM, editing may be disabled. Before any further edits to Wikipedia it is advised that the Spam policy along with External links policy for Advertising and conflicts of interest, and the General guidelines for Conflict of interest be understood before editing articles related to you, your organization, as well as projects you are involved with.--Hu12 01:19, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- While I'm pretty aggressive in removing commercial links with medical topics, I think this particular one looks fine. There's no advertising. It's not a promotional vehicle for someone's practice. I have no issue with it Droliver 02:12, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Warning removed
It appears there's been a well-meaning misunderstanding. Wikipedia's prominence has made the site a leading target for spammers who want to increase some other site's Google ranking. Due to frequent attempts to exploit our site for that purpose, one of our diligent spam fighters may have been overly aggressive in warning an editor who could have acted in good faith. To Clehmann, please be aware that our site's conflict of interest policy recommends avoiding the appearance of impropriety by posting such links to talk pages rather than to articles directly. A conversation about this situation is underway at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam#DermAtlas, which I invite you to join. Respectfully, DurovaCharge! 03:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Helpful Advice
- Hi, Dr. Lehmann I presume? Could you please take a look at WP:COI and WP:EL, which are the most relevant policies in this situation. We're very happy for you to participate in Wikipedia, especially if you can help by adding content and editing articles in your area of expertise. We are a bit sensitive about people adding links to Wikipedia to promote causes, even non-profit causes, so please be sure to use extreme caution if you want to link to a site you are affiliated with from Wikipedia. If there is any doubt, you can always post your content or suggestions to the article's talk page and ask the other editors for comments. If you have any questions, please leave a message on my talk page. Thank you! Jehochman (Talk/Contrib) 03:24, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
