[edit] Usage

  1. Add {{cleanup taskforce notice|Taskforce subpage title}} to the top of the article's talk page.
    • Taskforce subpage title is the title of the subpage that was created for the article. (It should be the same name as the article.)
  2. Cleanup the article.
  3. Remove template after cleanup is finished.

[edit] Change in use

Usage of this template has changed - please enter the following on the Talk page of articles that the Cleanup Taskforce is working on: {{cleanup taskforce notice|Taskforce subpage title}}

i.e. add the title of the relevant sub-page on Cleanup Taskforce (not the title of the page you are working on) e.g. the subpage Wikipedia:Cleanup Taskforce/Doctor Alexander Manette refers to the article Alexander Manette so the message on Talk:Alexander Manette is: {{cleanup taskforce notice|Doctor Alexander Manette}}

This means more to type, but links are no longer broken when the subpage has a different title to the article itself, for example in the following cases:

  • The subpage title is "Chocoholic needs copyedit" or similar
  • The subpage refers to multiple articles
  • The article referred to on the subpage has been:
    • moved as part of the cleanup
    • merged as part of the cleanup

SteveW: Thanks for your improvement. My original way worked okay, but got messed up on some pages when the listing on the Cleanup Taskforce wasn't the same as the article title. This will clear up any problems. --Randy 02:53, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Dyson vacuum

I'm inspired by the old Template:Sucks template idea that's on BJAODN (I forgot which number, I replicated it on my userpage). I think the Cleanup Taskforce should use the Dyson vacuum (right) as its symbol. Because nothing cleans better than a Dyson.

Just an idea. At least I posted it here first instead of unilaterally implementing it in the template and on the taskforce page. --Kitch 20:04, 12 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New feature: navbar

I just added a navbar that allows you to show and hide the sub-page using the template. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  05:12, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] TOC

Does this template really need the __TOC__ at the end? It tends to reorder the way an article looks, moving the Table of contents before any text which just looks ugly. GameKeeper 20:21, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

read the instructions and realised that this had been misplaced on an article main namespace, not the discussion one. I have added in a warning notice so that it does not get misplaced in future. Hope that's OK. GameKeeper 20:13, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
