[edit] Clevo Computing Division

Clevo is a large Taiwanese computer company specialising in laptops. While the Clevo brand name is perhaps not widely known, their products are rebranded and sold by Original Equipment Manufacturers, including Alienware, Hypersonic, Sager-Midern, Widow PC, Prostar, M-tech, and xVx.

Established in 1983, as an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM), they manufacture barebone products ranging from laptop to portable computing solutions for both AMD and Intel processors. Their main laptop range include:

  • PortaNote - Desktop Replacement and Multimedia systems, with features like support for 2 optical drives and 2 hard drives with an approximated weight of 12.5 lb (5.7 kg). There are two systems under this category:
    • The D900K[3] supports the Socket 939 single-core AMD Athlon 64 CPUs and the dual-core Athlon 64 X2 CPUs, including the Athlon FX-60. The notebook's mainboard chipset is the VIA K8T890 with the VT8237A southbridge.
    • The D900T[4] features the desktop LGA 755 version of the Intel Pentium 4 processor. Doesn't support the dual-core Pentium D series.
  • MobiNote - wide range of systems.
The MobiNote notebook range incorporate Intel Centrino technology and AMD machines, in a range of LCD monitor sizes (12.1" to 20") and Pentium-M processors (Banias and Dothan)to AMD 64X2. The latest technology is included as SLi and RAID technology. Serial ATA, Firewire and DVI for external TFT monitor.
  • TabletNote - Tablet computer systems.
