[edit] History

Clever was established in the 1800s and did quite well as a town while the railroad ran by it. There was a movie theater and a hotel. Yet, after the train no longer ran there the people in town spread some moving to nearby Boaz, but most to more populated towns such as Nixa or Republic.

Where the hotel used to be there is now a bar called the Rock Bottom. The movie theater used to be located by the local pizza jointed which is named Down Home Pizza.

There are approximately 700 students in the entire school system. In March of 2006 a series of tornadoes smashed into the outer reaches of the town resulting in the loss of only a few houses with no injuries.
