Cleveland Feast of the Assumption Festival
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The annual Feast of the Assumption Festival takes place each year in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood. The festival is held each year on the Catholic holiday of the Feast of the Assumption (August 15), commemorating the Virgin Mary's assumption into heaven. It includes a parade and street fair that takes place for four days, centered around Mayfield Road, near University Circle and the local parish, Holy Rosary Church. Live music is performed throughout the festival, which features restaurants and shops from around the neighborhood setting up street booths to sell food and traditional Italian items to enthusiastic festival attendees. The festival also includes carnival games, fireworks, and family rides, and is a general celebration of Italian culture and the Italian neighborhood of Cleveland, which remains relatively unchanged since its establishment.
