Clem Seecharan

Clem Seecharan is a writer who was born in Guyana, where he taught at the University of Guyana for some years. He obtained his doctorate at the University of Warwick and currently teaches on the Caribbean Studies programme at London Metropolitan University.

His publications include (with Frank Birbalsingh) Indo-West Indian Cricket (Hansib, 1988), India and the Shaping of the Indo-Guyanese Imagination: 1890-1920 (Peepal Tree, 1993) and Indians in British Guiana 1919-1929 (MacMillan).

He was awarded a Professorship at the University of North London (now a part of London Metropolitan University) in 2002.
