Clear Creek-Amana School District

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Clear Creek-Amana School District in Eastern Iowa consists of three different campuses: the primary elementary school in Oxford, Iowa, the middle school and secondary elementary school in Amana, Iowa, and the high school, located in Tiffin, Iowa.

The district is comprised of two originally separate community school districts: Clear Creek and Amana, which merged in 1990.

The class of 2004, according to the principal(Tom MacDonald)'s speech, was the first class since the merger in which all the students graduated.

The school's biggest athletic rival is Regina High School, a part of the private Regina Catholic Education Center located in Iowa City, Iowa.

Ashton Kutcher graduated there, and his picture (labeled Christopher Kutcher) is part of a display of graduates from each year.

The school maintains a paper, The Clipper Times. It is most commonly printed monthly or bi-monthly.

The superintendent, Paula Vincent, is widely criticized for her policies and decisions as compared to her predecessor, Craig Okerberg. This is especially true when she views rural Clear Creek-Amana as an urban district such as Iowa City.
