Description |
An illustration of a Class C en:Stellar engine. Image is to scale. Sun is accurately colored according to spectral type. Orbit of collectors depicted at an average of 1 AU radius. Collectors are 1.0 x 107 km in diameter, or ~25 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon. Collectors are spaced 3 degrees from midpoint to midpoint, around the orbital circle. Camera perspective is from a point 2.8 AU from the star, and below the ecliptic. Ring radii are spaced 1.5x107 km. Rings are rotated 15 degrees relative to one another, around a common axis of rotation. en:Statite mirror is hovering over the north pole of the star (with regards to the en:ecliptic), at a distance of 1 AU. |
