Clayton Utz is an Australian law firm based in Sydney and is Australia's fourth largest legal firm based on 2005 revenues.[citation needed] The firm has been involved in several high profile cases including British American Tobacco Vs McCabe [1]

The firm has represented more than three tobacco companies in court though has played a role in litigation of many other smoking-related court cases, especially those involving passive smoking[citation needed].

A private investigator made an allegation that he had been hired by lawyers at Clayton Utz to investigate a plaintiff suing one of Clayton Utz's tobacco industry clients during an interview with Australian Broadcasting Commission's Four Corners program[citation needed].
