Clay Sun Union (album)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clay Sun Union is the first full-length release by the band of the same name, Clay Sun Union. This was a big hit in the Okinawa area when it was released in 1998, selling around 2000 copies. Three videos were made on the rooftop of the Okinawa Tower Records building from the album, which were all filmed for free by a video company. One of those videos is for "Identity."

The band played regularly on Friday and Saturday nights at Club Fujiyama and Hideaway on Gate 2 Street near Kadena Airbase in Okinawa, Japan. Their high energy mixture of covers and original songs were extremely popular with American military personnel stationed in Okinawa during 1997 through 1999. The band sounded like they were heavily influenced by Pearl Jam, Creed, and Stone Temple Pilots, and were known for their covers of Pink Floyd and Metallica. Clay Sun also headlined music festivals such as the annual carnival on Futenma Air Station.
