Claudia Palacios

Claudia Isabel Palacios Giraldo (born October 11, 1977 in Cali) is a Colombian journalist and newscaster.
She lived in Palmira, a town near Cali, until she was 15 years old. She graduated from the Colegio del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. Then she majored at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá. She started her journalistic career on the Noticiero del Pacífico at a regional TV station, later she worked at the Noticiero CM& until 1998, when she joined Caracol Noticias as newsreader; she also worked in another segments of the program (international and health, the latter with Silvia Corzo). On July 30, 2004, she joined CNN en Español, after a job offer made via e-mail.
Claudia was awarded in Mexico by the CELSAM (Centro de Estudios Latinoamericanos para la Salud de la Mujer or Center of Latin American Studies on Women's Health) because of her health reports. In fact, thanks to her, the health segment became one of the most requested and viewed at Caracol Noticias. She suffers from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), which purportedly created her interest in health topics. She currently lives in Atlanta with Pablo, her son.
