[edit] The Classics Conference
The classics conference is a competition between different highschools, as they combat their knowledge of the classical world in three different types of compeition: Academic, athletic and creative. The competition takes place each May at Brock University. It is an excellent place for students to participate in getting sloshed out of their mind.

Among the numerous Academic competitions, there are the 5 cursus. "Cursus" means test in latin. The 5 cursus test the student's knowledge on: Latin vocabulary, Latin dervivatives, Roman history, Roman life and Mythology. These are competed at three levels: Junior, intermediate and senior. The other academic competitions consist of the following: Latin Sight Translation Greek Sight Translation Latin Comprehension and Grammar Latin Derivatives Greek Derivatives Latin Oral Reading Greek Oral Reading Roman History Greek History Classical Geography Oral Mythology Quaerite Summa: Roman Life
- All events except for Quaerite Summa are divided by age level or language experience.

The athletic competitions are based on those that took place in the classical world. These consist of:
Chariot Race Tug-of-War Discus Ultimus Relay Race
100m Dash Mini-Marathon Long Jump Frisbee Toss Slinging
- All events except the Relay Race and Discus Ultimus are divided by age and gender. Slinging is only divided by gender.
Swimming 50m Freestyle 100m Freestyle Relay 100m Mixed Medley Relay
- The 50 and 100 metre freestyle races are divided by gender.

The biggest creative events are fashion show and skit, which must be based on the classical world, including fabric, story plot etc. The other events include: Archaeological Dig School Display Chariot Design Scrapbook Small Model Large Model Mosaic Painting Drawing Sculpture Pottery Jewellery Posters, Charts, and Maps Illustrated Notebook Audio-Visual Presentation Computer Presentation Individual Performance Miscellaneous

The University of Toronto Schools has been the reigning champion for 10 years now, and is going for their eleventh straight victory at the conference in May of 2007.
