Clarice de' Medici

Clarice de' Medici (1493 - May 3, 1528) was the daughter of Piero di Lorenzo de' Medici and Alfonsina Orsini.
Born in Florence, she was the grandaughter of Lorenzo de' Medici the Great, nephew of Pope Leo X and sister to Lorenzo II de' Medici. In 1508 she married to Filippo Strozzi the Younger and moved to Rome.
After her brother's premature death, she educated his daughter Catherine, queen of France. Filippo and Clarice had ten children. The most notable were:
- Piero Strozzi (died in 1558), condottiero and marshal of France.
- Leone Strozzi (died in 1554), condottiero and Knight of Malta.
- Lorenzo Strozzi, abbot and cardinal
