Clarence Black

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Before joining SportsRadio 1130 WDFN, Clarence Black was best known for "stealing" a can of beans on the 2001 Africa season of CBS Survivor. Black was also accused off camera, by eventual million dollar winnner Ethan Zohn, of taking two canned cherries when everyone else had only taken one ( a claim Clarence Black disputes to this very day). As for the beans he "stole"? "F%$k em! I was hungry and I'd had enough". Clarence was eventually able to stick around long enough to make the merge, but the damage was done. The scandal isolated him from his tribemates and left him out of an "all important" alliance (Final Four - Kim J, Lex, Ethan, Tom). The only hope Black now held of winning rested in his performance during the individual immunity challenges. During the sixth hour of the first individual endurance immunity challenge, Clarence lost a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors to Theresa "T-Bird" Cooper and removed himself from the challenge thus allowing Theresa to win immunity. This made it easy for the remaining Surivors to remove him out of the competition, which they did by a 7-2 vote at Tribal Council the very next day.

Clarence began working as a part time co-host with WDFN in October of November of 2002. He spent the next year and a half working as a co-host with Sean Baligian and Eric Pate. In 2004, Clarence began hosting his own show "The Clarence Black Show", which he continues to host today. In 2006 Clarence became the new co-host of both "The 19th Hole" (PGA Golf) and "Football Sunday" (NFL/Lions pregame). When he is not behind the microphone, he can be found in front of the camera as an on-air talent for Comcast Local. Clarence has been with Comcast Local since 2004, serving as special events host, sideline reporter for high school and college football and a color analyst for college basketball.
