Claire Lyons

Claire Lyons is a character in the The Clique series by Lisi Harrison.
Claire Stacey Lyons is from a middle class family from Orlando, Florida. Her father is an old college friend of Mr. Block, who is Massie Block's father. The Lyons family moves into the guest house onto the Block Estate in the first novel, The Clique, much to the disdain of Massie. Claire has a younger brother, Todd Lyons. She is the main protagonist of the series along with Massie and sometimes Alicia Rivera.
Claire is described as having blonde hair and bangs. She, like Kristen Gregory, is somewhat short, flat-chested, and has a small body built of all muscle. She has a simple, casual dress sense, and usually wears sneakers, mainly Keds and Converse. Claire is the same grade as Massie and is 12 years old.
At the start of the series, Claire was so obviously desperate to get approval from the Pretty Committee, specifically Massie. Ever since she moved from Florida, it has been emphasized that she felt as if she wasn't allowed to be herself. Throughout the series, she's always felt the need to impress the girls, and felt as if she always had something to prove.

In the 2nd book, Best Friends for Never, Claire develops a crush on Cam Fisher (Massie's crush in the book, but no one knows). In the 3rd book, Revenge of the Wannabes, Cam tells Alicia that he likes Claire and tells her to talk to her for him while he talks to his older brother (Harris) to go out with Alicia. Alicia also finds out that Massie likes Cam and can't wait to spread the word (Massie likes Cam but he likes Claire). In the ending, Massie decides to let Claire have Cam and begins her crush on Derrick Harrington. At the end of the third book, Cam and Claire become a couple.
In the fourth book, Invasion of the Boy Snatchers, Nina Callas, Alicia's cousin from Spain, arrives. Cam and the rest of the boys become infatuated with her. In the end, Cam goes back to apologize, only to find Claire kissing Josh Hotz, Alicia's crush. Cam then breaks up with her.
In the 5th book, The Pretty Committee Strikes Back, Claire tries to get back with Cam. But all her tries come up short. In the end, Cam decides to forgive Claire. When she finds him with Alicia (about to kiss her), though, she becomes mad at him. She eventually forgives him when he dresses like a girl, proving that he'll do anything to get her back.
In the 6th book, Dial L for Loser, Claire goes to Hollywood to become the star of a new movie. When Massie sends Cam a picture message of Claire kissing her co-star for the last scene, he finds out that she had to kiss a teen star for her role, he becomes jealous and breaks up with her... again. But at the end, he forgives her and they don't just lip-kiss... they tongue-kiss. Look out for Lisi Harrison's newest novel coming in August 2007, Sealed With a Diss.
