CKEN-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting from Kentville, Nova Scotia on 97.7 FM. It plays a country music format and is branded AVR (which is short for Annapolis Valley Radio). The station has been on the air since 1947. It was originally broadcast on 1490 AM, then to 1350 in 1953, and then back to 1490 by 1979. In 2002, it received approval to move to 94.9, but instead moved to 97.7 in 2003. Magic 97 moved to 94.9 and became Magic 94.9.
CKEN has repeaters in Windsor (CFAB 1450), Middleton/Lawrencetown/Bridgetown (CKAD 1350), Bridgetown to Digby (CKDY 1420), and Weymouth (CKDY-1 103.3).
The station is owned by Maritime Broadcasting System.
