[edit] New music articles

Hi Cjthomas, welcome to Wikipedia.

I see that you've started some new articles on Palo Duro Records and the artists Eleven Hundred Springs, Ed Burleson, and Morrison-Williams. I'm glad that you're interested in contributing.

One thing to be wary of when creating a new article is duplicating content from other websites. Unless you own the copyright to the text of those articles—or the author of those articles has placed them in the public domain—we can't use them on Wikipedia.

If you can demonstrate that you have the permission of the original authors of the material, add that to the talk pages of articles in question. (Similarly, you'll want to demonstrate that permission has been granted to use the photographs associated with the articles.) Alternately, you are more than welcome to write an original article from scratch on each of these artists. It doesn't have to be huge, a good stub is fine.

Happy editing. --TenOfAllTrades | Talk 16:33, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

No harm, no foul then. Might I make a small suggestion? Add a quick note to the Talk page of each of the above articles, perhaps along the lines of
"I am the original author of this text, which also appears online at [1]. It is reproduced here and released with my permission."
(Don't forget to sign your note; four tildes "~~~~ will automatically be convered to your name and a date stamp.) To create a Talk page, click on the discussion button that appears over the article. Otherwise, another editor is likely to have the same concerns I did.
Thanks for your quick response to my questions, and happy editing. --TenOfAllTrades | Talk 00:39, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
