[edit] Request

Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Two Fat Ladies and John Morgan (comedian). Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links as long as the content abides by our policies and guidelines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. IntrigueBlue 02:45, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Ggeng.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Ggeng.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:08, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 23:37, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image tagging

All images on Wikipedia have to have an image copyright tag. If you have trouble choosing the correct one, feel free to contact me at any time. However, there are a few simple ones that you might want to know yourself - for example, the tag {{Tv-screenshot}} should be used for images such as the one you uploaded recently. You must also provide a fair-use rationale, which is just an explanation of why you think you should be allowed to use this image (for example: it's low-resolution, is used to illustrate the specific episode, etc) Let me know if you need any help! [edit] The Golden Girls episodes

Hi! I applaud your efforts to create and link articles on the episodes of the Golden Girls series. However, when you add these to List of The Golden Girls episodes, please pipe the links so they look better. An example that I just fixed: [[The Triangle (Golden Girls episode)|The Triangle]] instead of just [[The Triangle (Golden Girls episode)]]. Thanks! --Tkynerd 19:18, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Just wanted to say thanks -- I see that you have taken my suggestion and are now piping the links. I really appreciate this, and again, I'm very happy to see you working on the individual episodes. Happy editing! --Tkynerd 19:06, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ggjb.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Ggjb.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
