CJBZ-FM is a Canadian radio station, located in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada.

[edit] History

Originally licensed in 1975 to Taber, Alberta, CJBZ was known as CKTA at 1570 kHz on the AM band. In 1987, the format changed from Country to Easy Listening, and shortly thereafter changed back to country. Then in 1999, as shown on the CRTC website, the radio station applied to convert to the FM band at 93.3 MHz starting off as CHHK (93.3 The Hawk). The genre was classic rock. Station ownership changed from Monarch Broadcasting to Jim Pattison Broadcasting in 2003, changing once again to its current station ID B93 FM and current callsign - CJBZ, mirroring some of the other stations in the Jim Pattison Broadcasting Group. In early 2006, another change was made to 'the Hits of the 80s, 90s, and Now!' providing R&B and some rock hits.
