Civil Justice Centre

The Civil Justice Centre is a building in Manchester, England that is due for completion in 2007. Construction began in 2003.

It is located in the Spinningfields district to the east of Deansgate. The eastern side of the 17 storey / 80m (262ft) building faces the River Irwell, which marks the border between the cities of Manchester and Salford. When completed it will be the joint 6th tallest building in the city centre.

The entrance to the building opens onto Bridge Street.

It is designed by Australian architects Denton Corker Marshall. The building is notable for the 'fingers' at each end of the building that are non-aligned with each other, primarily vertically but, to a lesser extent, horizontally.

On January 18, 2007, during the Kyrill storm, several pieces of aluminum cladding were blown off the building, one of which struck and injured a woman walking along Bridge Street. The road was cordoned off by police the most of the remainder of the day. [1]
