Ciudad Seva is a web site founded in December 12, 1995 by Puerto-Rican author Luis López Nieves

[edit] The beginnings

The site originally started out of curiosity as a way for López-Nieves to keep in touch with his family and friends by a new method (back then): the World Wide Web. With little hesitaition he picked the title of his first book: Seva as the web page title. By doing this he became (unknowingly) the first Spanish-speaking writer with his own webpage.

[edit] Development and growth

The site quickly started growing. At first it was just a place for the author to keep in touch with his friends and students, also a place where people from around the world could get to know his work, but it has grown into other roles. The different sections have grown from badly formatted stubs to sections containing almost all the information there is to publicly know about the author and his writings.

[edit] Ciudad Seva Digital Library

Founded in April, 2001 the Ciudad Seva Digital Library has probably become the site's main attraction. Started as a way for the author to post stories that would be useful to his students and his courses, it now houses more than 3000 classic short stories.

[edit] Other Uses

In addition to its digital library function, the site houses numerous literary forums where visitors can (among other things) subscribe to a weekly classic short story via e-mail. There is also an online forum where writings can be peer-reviewed and ideas can be excahnged about improving each others work.
