The Ciudad Real Madrid (Spanish: Royal Madrid City) is the name given to Real Madrid's new training facilities located outside Madrid in Valdebebas near Barajas airport. Inaugurated in 2005, the terrain measures 1,200,000 square meters although at present only 21,578 m2 have been developed. The first phase of construction cost 70m euros and includes medical and training facilities for the first team and youth sections, as well as 12 playing fields including the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano where Real Madrid Castilla plays its home matches. Future additions will take place over the coming years, and will include the construction of a basketball stadium and a "mini-stadium".
