[edit] Difference
What's the difference between this and Sydney, Australia?? Georgia guy 13:41, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- the City of Sydney is the specific Local Government Area confined to a very small area containing the central business district (CBD) or "downtown" and inner city suburbs run by the Council of the City of Sydney, whilst Sydney refers to the entire metropolitan area. unlike many other cities, particularly those in North America, most cities in Australia are divided into smaller council areas and do not have local government at the level of the entire city. in Australia, if you say you are from "Sydney" it means you could be from any part of the metro area of 4 million+ people. clarkk 13:48, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Coat of arms/map
The map space in the lga box is currently filled with a picture of the coat of arms of the city. Should this be replaced with Image:City of sydney.png and the CoA put elsewhere in the article? JPD 13:43, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Missing Suburbs
Shouldn't Newtown and Paddington be included in the list of "Suburbs in the local government area"? Or are they omitted because they straddle two councils?
