City News Los Angeles (CNLA) is a weekly newspaper created in 2001 by Associated Press Correspondent R. Alexander Jaime to serve the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered LGBT community of Los Angeles consistent with journalistic standards found in mainstream media outlets. Abandoning classified advertising promoting escorts and masseurs, CNLA has attracted the interest of national advertisers. It leads many other competitors within the gay media in its diverse coverage of lifestyle issues, gaycentric or not. Its online presence was established in 2002 and incorporated many advanced features, including RSS feeds and myriad CMS (Content Management Systems) devices.
