City Engineering College (CEC) was started in the year 2001 by Jayanagar Education society(Regd.) with a mission to explore new frontiers in Technology. The college is located at Vasanthapura, Off Kanakapura Road, Bangalore.

City Engineering College (CEC) is located in the serene surrounding spread over an area of 12 acres, within the urban limits of Bangalore city amides well developed residential extensions.

World famous ISKON Temple and their Akshyapatra facilities are situated next to City Engineering College (CEC) Campus; well connected by public transport services and can be reached conveniently from either ISRO layout or Doddakallasandra, bus stop (Kanakapura Main Road).

The College has all fully equipped laboratories, well-stacked library, workshops and spacious furnished classrooms. The college buildings are architecturally designed meeting functional needs of classrooms, Computer and Electronics Laboratory, Library and workshops.

The college has hand picked faculty with qualifications adhering to AICTE guidelines, and having rich experience and knowledge motivated to serve student community.

CEC's exception is perhaps most discerning from others in its approach to creating self-driven departments. Each department is provided independent infrastructure and is self-contained to a very large extent. The heads of these departments assume complete charge of the departments - teaching, management, development, research, industry interaction etc and are ably supported by a team of Professors, Asst. Professors, Lecturers and technical/administrative staff.

With complete clarity on the core concentration of the stream of study, they are able to device their own innovative pedagogy drawing inspiration from other departments and organizations outside CEC.

In addition to periodicals and journals, City College library contains over 4,000* books pertaining to the courses offered. The library is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Latest journals and magazines have been subscribed and the library receives all major newspapers and employment news letters. A separate reference section is also available.

The College library has a collection of over 6500 volumes and 38 current periodicals are subscribed regularly. The collection also contains press clippings, statistical publications, annual reports of top private and public sectors companies and financial institution, case studies, working papers, reprints etc.,

Keeping with the times the library has a computerized data base of all books and articles.

All courses in the College have an information technology (IT) component. Computing facilities are available to support studies. Comprehensive computing service is provided across the Campus based mainly in NT Servers which are attached to a high speed campus network. The high speed network provides the link between machines in laboratories and work rooms. Currently over 100 PC's are in operation in various departments.

Teaching Aids and Video Library

Overhead and slide projector, TV with video facility and computers with internet facility serve as educational aids. The college has a video library containing more than 100 video cassettes and CDs on management and computer topics.

Prayas - A Student Initiative – an effort by students to understand self-capabilities and at the same time use them for the betterment of the college and the society in total. It is an initiative to ensure a proper coordination between students and the faculty and also to identify and eliminate any functional problems for the smooth functioning of the college activities.

Confluence - Student oriented activity where in students come together and trains themselves for participation in different management festivals, all over country. Confluence also indulges in organizing management-oriented seminars, workshop and other training and counseling sessions.

Sanskruti – At CITY ENGINEERING COLLEGE, SANSKRUTI plays a vital role in emphasizing the culture and heritage of our country by organizing and promoting and participation in various cultural meets.

Praktanakam - The alumni association of CITY ENGINEERING COLLEGE is very active group where a very conscious effort is made to bridge the gap between the students and the previous batches.

City Engineering College organizes educational tours every year to South Indian and North Indian cities. CEC has also conducted educational tours to Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Educational Tours will expose the students to understand the socio economic and educational aspects of Indian as well as foreign countries too.

City college provides an opportunity to all those students who are talented in cultural activities to exhibit their talents on Talents day, Sports day and Annual Day, which are celebrated every year.

City Engineering College includes more than Seven Hundred alumni from City Engineering College from the Engineering, Management and other disciplines.
