Circumferential Highway

A circumferential highway is a major, usually limited access road that follows a circular route around a city, town, or some other entity. Common terms for such highways include orbital road, beltway, or ring road, although other such roads have been referred to as "circumferential highways" exclusively. - Interstate 495 around Washington, D.C. was known as the Circumferential Highway during its planning.
