CINVESTAV

The Centro de Investigación y Estudios Avanzados, Cinvestav (Center for Advanced Research and Studies) is a Mexican non-governmental scientific research organization founded on 17 April 1961 by decree of then-president Adolfo López Mateos.
Cinvestav is affiliated to Mexico's National Polytechnic Institute and receives an annual subsidy from the government to fund its operations.

The institute is divided into 28 departments and 8 research centers; 3 of these are in Mexico City, while the others are dispersed across the country. They are located as follows:

- Saltillo, Coahuila.
